It is difficult to keep track of a couple who are always needing privacy even from their Cupid.  Today marks the third time this week that I have come down to check on Myrtle and Jaquinn, only to have to make a hasty exit.  I have learned more about the actual act of sex since meeting these two than I have in any of my training.

At first glance, it would not seem to be an act worthy of the respect and discretion our Father has demanded from us.  The actual physical union is quite simple—though I would imagine that much of what Myrtle and Jaquinn do would not be the norm for couples who are less athletic.  Myrtle is especially creative with her body.  But in the end, all it consists of is friction and heat and the flow of blood under skin.  And if the purpose is not to create new life—which it certainly is not in this case—then where is the miracle?

I thought this way before meeting these two.  Having seen them together for a few weeks now, I believe differently.  I have noticed that since their decision to remain exclusive to one another, their interactions have changed.  It is as if their bodies have become sensitized, but only to one another.  Jaquinn will run one hand down Myrtle’s arm, or she will brush her knuckles down his side.  Simple touches, of a kind that I have seen between other people, and yet they elicit powerful emotional reactions.  Jaquinn lost the stress of a miserable day simply by taking Myrtle’s hand.  Myrtle spent hours struggling with her finances yesterday, and yet leaning briefly against Jaquinn was enough to calm her.

To me, it is the combination of body and heart that makes the humans as strong in the fight as they are.  Their love makes their lovemaking special, but the reverse is true as well.  The physical deepens and strengthens the emotional.

I look forward to learning more of this.
