How exhilarating it is to do the work I most wish to do, without the attendant exhaustion!  I had not realized what a heavy burden it was, until now that it is long gone.  Suddenly my restrictions have been loosened, and I am strong enough to remain on Earth for longer periods of time.  This has made such a difference to me.

I have spent the past days checking on all of my charges, making certain that they are happy and well.  I have kept close to Tammy and Lamarr, of course, but they seem to have come past the worst of it.  They have decided to postpone their wedding until this summer, and though as yet the date is undetermined, they are both still looking forward to the time that they will formally begin their lives together.  I am pleased that they are coming along.

Myrtle and Jaquinn are also coming along.  Though they continue to have their fights, each argument has less bite than the last, and though they have not yet admitted it to one another, they are beginning to think of the future as a shared thing.  It is amusing, and also heartwarming to watch.

Charlotte has shed her depression and is blossoming.  She is making her presence felt in Don’s home, bringing in new furniture and artwork, rearranging the kitchen.  Don grumbles, but inwardly he is delighted that she is so comfortable.

There is less joy between Brooke and Morgan.  Brooke has received a new opportunity, a temporary job, but one that will take her away from New York for six months.  She has not yet told Morgan, but she truly wants to take the position, and she knows that it means that they will be separated, for Morgan now has a contract at a playhouse in Brooklyn.  I am doing what I can to give Brooke the strength to bring it up, because I believe that their love can survive the distance.

Pamela receives weekly phone calls from her stepfather, and hears more often from her young brothers.  Angela is silent, but in the times that I have checked with her this past week, her heart seemed to be softening.  I will continue to work with her, and will report on her progress.

As for Jesse and Ramona—I realize that I left you all hanging[1] before, when I was about to tell you about Jesse’s plans.  Those plans have not entirely come to fruition, but they will soon, soon enough that I will not tell you about them now.  I believe it is better to see what comes of it before I speak more.

I rejoice to be back at work and taking care of these wonderful people.  It is a pleasure and a privilege, and I look forward to what I may do for them in the future.

[1] As with the phrase “hanging out” which I have mentioned in the past, there is no actual hanging implied here.  I simply am using the image to express that I know how you felt to be offered partial information.
