Sometimes hard news takes time to reconcile in one’s heart.  Myrtle has spent these past few days at home, canceling her classes and refusing any invitations to go out.  Jaquinn has spent most of those days with her, and though she goes through periods of trying to shut him out, she is glad that he is there.  He is a support to her spirit.

She is doing better now.  Between Jaquinn and myself, we managed to convince her that her art is the best way to sort through her emotions.  She spent much of today trying to find the right music, and the project has lightened her heart.

She has not spoken to Darron again yet, but I now believe that she soon will feel strong enough to do so.  I think they will be better off with this behind them.

Now that Myrtle is feeling less fragile, I have been able to attend to some of my other charges.  Pamela, Morgan, and Brooke are all doing well, so it is my newest charge who has my attention now.  Jonathan, though he has given little thought to the attempted theft, remembered what the young man told him about being on the soccer team.  There is a game tomorrow, and Jonathan intends to go.  This is the first time since my assignment to his case that he has ventured out to socialize.  I must take advantage of this opportunity, and I think I have an idea how to do it.  I will write again to tell you how it goes.
