I found Morgan and Brooke curled up together in their apartment today, having decided that it was far too cold to go out. They were sitting on the sofa, Brooke with her back against one arm, Morgan reclining across the remaining length with her head on Brooke’s thigh. Brooke was reading while Morgan played with her phone.

I looked at them for a long time, and to see the intertwining of their bodies and their aura was blissful to me. This world is beautiful, but I think there is nothing more beautiful here than two spirits who are bound by both friendship and love. They come to shape themselves so that the other fits perfectly with them, and that is an amazing thing.

In the middle of her reading, Brooke suddenly looked up—or rather down—from her book to Morgan. “September 12,” she said.

Morgan glanced up, but she knew immediately what Brooke was talking about. She smiled. “Was that the day we met?”

“You don’t remember? I’m hurt,” Brooke teased.

Morgan sat up and turned around to take Brooke’s face in her hands. “Why would I bother to remember a time before you?” she whispered, and leaned in to kiss Brooke.

They laughed together, and for a while there was nothing but closeness and love. But then they began to talk and plan, and so it is decided that on that day, these two will join their lives together.

I put my wings around them, drawing even more warmth from my heart into theirs. “I will be back for that happy, happy day,” I whispered to them. “Until them, joy, peace, and trust be between you. You are so very loved.”

They fell asleep there together on the sofa, beautiful smiles on their faces, and I left them, for now.
