Reaching Out

I was hesitant to encourage Pamela’s mother or stepfather to send a message to Pamela, given what reactions to such messages I have seen.  Still, it is easier to get humans to communicate through writing.  A letter or an email gives one a chance to think about one’s words, to consider all ramifications of each line before it is sent.  And the distance provides a shield from immediate reactions, which is greatly desirable to most people.
