I have spent every permitted moment and more with Tammy and Lamarr in the past days, and am only returning to heaven now to give an update to those of you who have been so concerned for their welfare.

Tammy is taking her mother’s death very hard. Sheridan was the last living member of Tammy’s family, and though she was not an easy person to deal with, Tammy loved her very much. Now instead of planning her wedding, Tammy is forced to plan a funeral.

It is terrible that when a person dies, often there is not time for grief. There are so many small details to manage: informing friends and family, transporting the body, arranging for care of home and pets—Tammy broke down on going to her mother’s apartment only to be greeted by a very confused dog. I watched as she wept into the creature’s ruff.

Lamarr has been very strong, doing as much as Tammy will allow him to do. She has been strangely distant with him, however, asking to handle much of the work herself. It worries me, and I have been encouraging her to speak to him, to depend on him more. I hope that her resistance is a temporary means of protecting herself from the grief, but I cannot be sure.

In the end, all I can do is be there for her. Even when she will not depend on Lamarr, she is not alone, and though she does not realize it, it is a comfort to her spirit. I only pray it will be enough.
